Membership pathway

Three levels of active membership are available to tax professionals. Each category demonstrates a different level of expertise and has its own eligibility criteria. These are achieved by meeting academic and workplace qualifications or the successful completion of our Foundation Tax, Applied Tax or Advanced Tax courses.

CPD Requirements

With the completion of one course of our Education Program you will have fulfilled your CPD requirements for that current Membership year. The only exception being that there are no CPD requirements for Affiliate Members.
Note: 'Structured' and 'unstructured' have particular meanings in relation to CPD.

I am interested in enrolling in your courses, however I do not want to sit the assessments. Will I still obtain all course material and the CPD hours if I do not complete the assessments and only attend the lectures?
Yes, you should return an application form and indicate that you will be undertaking the course for CPD hours only and not be undertaking the assessment components. If you attend all lectures you will satisfy the CPD requirements for your Tax Institute Membership.
Note: your final result will be recorded as ‘not yet achieved' and you will not be entitled to receive a certificate of completion if you do not successfully pass the course assessments.
